POINT BREAK

What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object… Well, in 1991 the world found out when Johnny Utah collided with Bodhi (last name pending). One, a clean shaven perpetually wet-haired thumbs-up giving collegiate QB turned undercover FBI dynamo. The other, a Zenmaster surfing bank-robbing skydiving philosopher with shaggy locks and piercing eyes ready to kill, or fall in love. They start as adversaries but quickly become entangled lovers across this SoCal sprawling two-hour adrenaline ride straight out of a 16-year-old boy’s wet dream. Except wait, it’s directed by Kathryn Bigelow, incredible! The battle of bodacious one-liners, beach bods, bravado, blue eyes, blue balls, brains?, banks, moral beliefs and “brahs” WILL NOT disappoint. Not to mention cameos from Anthony Kiedis, Michael Madsen, and stunning supporting performances from Lori Petty and Gary Busey that would have made Phil Bosco proud. This film brought out the best in Nice Movie Club and magically had something for everyone. From entertaining to inspiring, it continues to touch hearts and minds to this very day. Until next time, take it easy brahs, and remember to surf, “everyday”… It’s a source, much like Point Break.
